(Metro Health) notified NEISD at 5:30 p.m. on May 7 that a four-year-oldr Longs Creek Elementary School studentt has been diagnosed withthe flu. The identity of the chilc was not shared with theschoo district. School Superintendent Richard A. Middleton sent out a lette to parents, staff and the communit y indicating that this is the only confirmed case with The school district will not closse any schools as a result of this confirmed case and Metrpo Health officials have not recommender that the schoolbe closed.
The threatg of infection from this case hasalreadty passed, Middleton says the schookl district will not consider closinfg any schools unless directed to do so by Metro Since learning of the threat of the H1N1 virus, NEISD officials have directed maintenance crews to thoroughly cleajn all facilities. Students and staff are being encourager to wash their handse with soapand water. However, students and employeesd also have access to the Kleenhanzs antimicrobial towelette system as an alternative when regular hand-washing is unavailable. Columbus-based Huntington said it priced an offering of 90 millionm sharesat $3.60 a which would raise $324 million. The bank took orderx for the stock Wednesday and expectz to finish allocating shares to investors byJune 9, said Jay who leads Huntington’s investor Huntington announced the offering, originally set for only $300 million, on Wednesdauy after suspending a progra launched in late May that resultede in the sale of $76 million in stock. Under the new underwriters havea 30-day option to buy up 13.5 million more which would raise $48.6 million.
If underwriters take the over-allotmentr option, that will bring the capital raised from the suspendeds program and new offerinbg to acombined $448.6 million. The stock sale is part of a larger Huntington plan to build a cushion against a deeper economic downturhn and eventuallyrepay $1.4 billion in governmentt bailout funds. The bank is looking to sell $75 million in preferred securities and togenerate $250 million from balance sheet adjustmentds and the adoption of new accounting standards. Huntingtob (NASDAQ:HBAN) last month sold $120 million of stock and said it expectsx most ofthe capital-raising actions to wrap up beforse June 30.
CEO Stephen Steinour said in a release Thursday thatthe higher-than-expected proceeds from the stoco sale “reflects well on the increasingv investor confidence we sense in the marketplac regarding Huntington’s future “The depth of interest reflected both existinhg shareholders wanting to increase their ownership, as well as indications of interesty by a number of high-quality, long-term-orientexd investors,” Steinour said. Some operations and equipment from a steel stampinh plant inGrand Rapids, Mich., which is slated to close as part of the automaker'sa restructuring, will be transferred to Wentzville, according to Bob a spokesman for the Wentzville plant. It's not yet knowb how many, if any, Michigan employees will opt to transfetrto Wentzville, he GM officials called Wentzville Mayor Paul Lambi at 9 a.m. Mondayg to assure him the local plang wouldremain open. "It's good that they are shipping in work for this Lambi said. "That's a positivse that corporate thinks this plant willbe around.
" Still, Lambiu said, rival automaker Chrysler plans to shutter its Fenton factors after investing $130 milliom in them, so it was important for Wentzville to not rely on GM so much and diversifg its revenue stream.
