Reports from comments made to reporters while on a trip to the head of the Santa Clarzacompany (NASDAQ:AMAT) said that the companieas that supply chipmaking equipment are finding it very difficulr to merge or do acquisitions. "Today therse is too much repetition, too much wast in the industry." A report on Mondagy indicated that global chip sales poste d their second consecutive monthof increases, up 6.4 percent from Marc to April, but remain 25 percent below salea from a year ago.
