Grimes, a managing partner of LLC, is overseeing the conversion of a formetrShell station, 5080 S. Pennsylvaniqa Ave., into a biofuel station callee Good To Go that will begin sellinf biodiesel fuelin June. In the future, Good To Go statiomn will offer E-85, a gasoline and ethanool mix that’s 85 percent ethanol, and plug-inh bays where electric cars can rechargetheir batteries. Grimes and a handfu of partners have a second Good To Go alternativer fuel station in Little Chutr in the Fox Valley thatsells E-85 and will sell biodieselk soon. “The business climate for alternativs fuelsis growing, and we’rw attracting more investors,” Grimes said.
But, he said capital marketse are tight, preventing the company from opening additional Good To Go stationsa earlyin 2009. AUR Energyh Partners has options to purchase two petroleum filling stationxin Shorewood, but he doesn’t expect opening the Shorewoord stations until 2010 at the Good To Go filling stationas are purchasing biodiesel fuel from the . Grimees has a 10,000-gallon fuel tank at the Cudahhy alternative fuel stop that willcarry biodiesel. Cudahy Mayor Ryan McCue expects the alternative fuel statioh to attract other green businessesto Cudahy. “We thinj this will help put us onthe ‘green’ map for other startups,” he said.
Grimes is also installinhg solar panels at the Cudahy location that will produc electricityfor battery-powered vehicles. Electricity generated by the panelsz will be used at the station and some will be sold back to We AUR Energy Partners also has a car wash in Little Chute that uses recyclefwash water. A similar car wash will be installec at the Cudahy GoodTo Go, said Grimes. “W e need more pioneers to embrace alternative and renewabled fuels because the opportunities are saidMaria Redmond, a biofuels secto r specialist for the Wisconsin Office of Energy Redmond predicts the amount of biodiesel fuel sold in 2009 throughout the stated will be more than double that sold in 2008.
